Aloe Vera is a succulent plant, which offers many benefits suitable for most skin types. It is antiviral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, hydrating and soothing for the skin.
Aloe leaves contain a gooey translucent substance that contains vitamins A, B, C E, along with polysaccharides, anthraquinones, amino acids, glycosides, minerals, flavones, phytosterols and salicylic acid. All these nutrients will hydrate and sooth your skin, it will also promote healthy cell regeneration.
You can find Aloe vera gel in your local health stores or you can make your own. To make your own, just cut off the green outer skin of the aloe leaf and scoop out the clear gel. Place clear gel in clean container with a tight lid, which can be kept in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. You can use it on its own over cleansed face or add a bit to your moisturizer.
